Ed Chivers is a Brighton-based composer, producer, and sound artist with credits on HBO’s Succession, Nintendo, BBC 6Music Albums of the Day, and a string of cult skate and surf films. He’s a core member of internationally touring bands Fujiya & Miyagi and AK/DK, and has composed for contemporary dance, theatre, and short films.
Known for his obsession with tone and texture, Ed brings out the emotional core of a track—whether it was recorded on a 4-track at home or in a high-end studio. His studio is loaded with gear like the ARP 2600, vintage EMI limiters, Space Echos, modular synths, and reel-to-reel tape machines.
In mixing & mastering, Ed takes a minimalist, musical approach—prioritising clarity over volume and offering honest feedback to elevate your mix. Alongside his creative work, he serves as an External Examiner at Confetti Institute, University of Nottingham, and lectures in music production and sound design, helping the next generation shape their sound with confidence and creativity.
