- Choose an operator that you want to apply an envelope to. This can be a carrier or modulator operator.
- Open up the envelope editor for the selected operator. In Ableton’s FM Operator, this can be done by clicking on the “ENV” button next to the operator.
- Adjust the envelope settings to create the desired shape and length of the envelope. You can adjust the attack, decay, sustain, and release times, as well as the level of the envelope at each stage.
- To create a looped envelope, set the sustain level of the envelope to the same value as the decay level. This will cause the envelope to loop continuously between the decay and sustain stages.
