It is called \u201cOpen\/Close Instrument Plug-In Window of Focused Track\u201d. Logic users have been asking for this particular feature for years and now it is here. Let me show and tell you what this does.<\/p>\n<p>This magnificent feature gives us the option to recall not only the software instrument that we are currently using BUT it also allows us to summon the audio (and midi fx) inserts as well. Why am I so excited about this? If there is anything that can help me <strong>use the mouse\/trackpad LESS<\/strong> then count me in.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17604&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1528987623651{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]By default, it has no key command. Time is of the essence&#8230;so let\u2019s set that up now. Go to Logic&gt;Key Commands&gt;Edits.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17605&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1528987676604{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]This will open up the key command window. In the search bar type in \u201cOpen\/Close\u201d and you will see a long list of unassigned key commands. Let\u2019s go over them.<\/p>\n<h4>Open\/Close Instrument Plug-In Window of Focused Track<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>You can now open up and close the Instrument of the focused track (which means it has to be selected\/ highlighted) with a Key Command.<\/li>\n<li>This only applies to a Software Instrument track (not Audio or Drummer track).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Open\/Close Audio Insert 1 Plug-In Window of Focused Track<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>This applies to the Audio Inserts themselves.<\/li>\n<li>You can load up to 15 different inserts in Logic\u2019s Audio Inserts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17606&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1528987711003{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>Open\/Close Midi Insert Insert 1 Plug-In Window of Focused Track<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>This applies to the Midi FX Inserts themselves.<\/li>\n<li>You can load up to 15 different inserts in Logic\u2019s Midi FX Inserts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is how I set up my custom key commands.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17607&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1528987750841{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12px&#8221;][vc_column_text]Do not get me wrong, I am thrilled about SMART TEMPO and stoked to see Logic level the playing field with it.
